Hey, Family Members - Be a Team!
We have three categories for families this year. And our categories are flexible so feel free to choose the most appropriate category if
you want to race with cousins, aunts, grandparents, grandkids, sis-in-law, etc. The categories are Mother/Daughter, Sister-Sister and Life Partners
(new this year!). All you need to do is pick your category and send us a team name (if you did this during registration you don't need to send this separately).

Healthy Me. Healthy Community.
Every day, YWCA of Minneapolis health and fitness services and memberships do double duty! Members enjoy top notch fitness facilities and programs. And the YWCA turns around and uses their membership dollars as a platform to support programs for youth, women and families in Minneapolis. It is a relationship that allows members to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Making us all Strong Fast Fit
By entering the Women's Tri you are joining us in supporting community programs for women and youth. Race proceeds and the donations you make during or after registration benefit the Latino and Native American youth and their families in the YWCA's Strong Fast Fit program.

Faces of the Tri: Dr. Margarita Sevilla, Women's Tri Medical Director
We hope that your only connection with Dr. Sevilla is a passing glance at the medical tent (but it would be your loss because she is really cool!). Just know that if you need medical help on race day that you are in wonderful hands. Dr. Sevilla has been watching out for our triathletes since the race's inaugural year in 2008 as the race Medical Director. She brings outstanding athletic and race event medical experience, as well as personal racing experience, to our team.
Trained in both family practice and sports medicine, Dr. Sevilla has provided medical coverage on the course and/or in the medical tent at numerous local and national sporting events including the Twin Cites Marathon, City of Lakes Loppet and the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. She has also served as team physician for Saint Thomas Academy High School, Bethel College, St Thomas University, Hamline University and UW-River Falls. Having completed several marathons, ironman distance triathlons, and numerous half ironman and sprint triathlons, she has a strong sense of an athlete's experience and needs. Dr. Sevilla is a physician on our official medical team, Women's Orthopaedic Center.

Maintaining consistent and steady training is unquestionably the most effective way to progress toward a long-term fitness goal such as a triathlon. Unfortunately, many beginners too often, usually unknowingly, break basic training principles and try to do too much soon. Injuries then halt or slow their progress. We want you to know what and how to avoid common problems, so you hit the course with strength and resiliency.
