Mark May 6 for the YWCA's Circle of Women luncheon
Join us at a TRIATHLON table at the YWCA's Circle of Women fundraiser, May 6. An invitation will come in the mail to race alumnae but new racers may go ywcampls.org/circle for info and to sign up (put Paul Johnson as table captain). One of the Silent Auction items is a tri package that includes all our classes, personalized training plan, and stuff you need from Gear West Bike & Tri (helmet, race belt, elastic laces) and Gear West Run (free pair of running shoes, pair of running socks and accessories).

This is a very popular event with over 1300 attendees, mostly women who are community and business leaders. And we'll be there to talk tri with everyone at our table (i.e. free coaching).

Triathlon Training: Before the First Step
Presented by the Women's Orthopedic Center
(First of a three-part triathlon prep series)

The following article is presented on behalf of Dr. Margarita Sevilla, Medical Director of the YWCA of Minneapolis Women's Triathlon, and the Women's Orthopaedic Center.

Women's Orthopedic CenterWe want your tri experience to be fun and injury-free! If you are new to the sport, you will soon find out why it is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation.

Starting to Start
Rest assured that the vast majority of people can safely and enjoyably complete a sprint triathlon with at least 12 weeks of training. And much less if they already have a background in endurance sports. Since your tri journey of many miles begins with one step, make that first step a good one. Our best advice is to not go it alone. Tap the experts!

In our first of three training articles for beginning triathletes, we've compiled a list of eight tips to consider before you take too big of a leap into training. Read the rest of the article on our website!
